Such large crowds gathered around himthat he got into a boat and sat down,and the whole crowd stood along the shore. And he spoke to them at length in parables, saying:"A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path,and birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky ground, where it had little soil. It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep,and when the sun rose it was scorched,and it withered for lack of roots. Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it. But some seed fell on rich soil and produced fruit,a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold. Whoever has ears ought to hear."

Occupational Safety and Health Administration osha.gov☀️Acclimation and Acclimatization simply mean “slowly getting used to the heat!”. ☀️🥵 It’s *ESPECIALLY* important for new hires, EE’s wearing PPE, working in high heat index/high humidity environments. Physical fitness can also increase potential for heat stress. ✅20% rule: Limit day (1) to **only** 20% of the scheduled work day in the heat. Increase time in heat by 20% each day over a 7-14 day period so the body can adjust. 🥵How does the body acclimate?🥶👍- lowered heart rate❤️⬇️- more efficient evaporative cooling thru sweating💧- less salt loss during sweating🧂 - more heat loss through the skin🔥 These tips, in addition to pre-work hydration/water, rest, shade, rehydration, electrolyte replenishment and COOLING at routine intervals to keep the core cool, will prevent heat related illness!🥶👍 Interesting OSHA info on acclimatization attached. Practice Decision Driving. 🚙 👀☀️💧Friday tip: Hydrate in your daily huddles tomorrow morning. July 4th is a (traditionally) higher alcohol consumption day, and many may report to work dehydrated after a long day of festivities in the heat on July 5th. ❤️Meet Van Alan. Our newest, tiniest “why” for safety.😍🦺🚧New #FluidSolutions “Dad” Colby Neubauer and wife Jen welcomed adorable Van Alan in March. Colby described (on a recent safety call), the absolute care he took while driving his new bundle (safely) home. Not because of the law. Not for fear of getting a ticket… but because his LIFE changed, and he took whatever measures possible to protect his precious son and family. His “why” for safety. Real safety culture. 🚧🦺 Construction workers deserve our undistracted attention, sincere respect, reduction in speed and uncompromised safety. They are building/repairing/improving roads/bridges/projects that positively impact our communities, commutes, commerce, safety, efficiency, vehicle maintenance and lives. Take care of them while they’re taking care of us.
