Wanyonyi wins by a nose!
Wow! What a race! And what a finish!
Emmanuel Wanyonyi holds off the challenge of Marco Arop to cross the line one-hundredth of a second ahead of his rival.
It's an astonishing run from the Kenyan, who hit the front with one lap remaining and just kept going.
Arop and Algerian Djamel Sedjati pushed the leader hard in the final 50m, but Wanyonyi somehow dig deep to keep himself in front and take gold by the narrowest of margins.

- Silver: Marco Arop (Canada)

USA win gold at Parc des Princes
The United States - and their English coach Emma Hayes - have won the final of the Women's Football.
Team USA reclaim the gold medal they last claimed at London 2012 with a 1-0 victory over Brazil at the Parc des Princes.
The only goal of the contest was scored by forward Mallory Swanson, who was making her 100th appearance for the US.
Not even the introduction of the legendary Marta could bring Brazil back into it as USA held on for their fifth Olympic gold in Women's football.

Portugal snatch gold in Madison!
Portugal win their first gold medal of Paris 2024 - and what a way to do it!
They burst through dramatically in the final sprint of the race for double points and push long-time leaders Italy into second place.
No wonder Iuri Leitao and Rui Oliveira cannot believe what they've done, they were barely in contention with 50 laps to go.
But they raced brilliantly to claim 27 of their 35 sprint points in the final quarter of the contest, and triumph against all odds.
There are tears of joy from the Portuguese pair, and tears of despair from Italians Simone Corsonni and Elia Viviani, who had looked set for gold.
- Gold: Portugal
- Silver: Italy
- Bronze: Denmark

GB crash in the Madison
It's all happening over at the National Veledrome, where 25 laps remain in the Madison.
And unfortunately for Team GB, it's not good news.
Moments ago, Ollie Wood was involved in a heavy crash after colliding with one of the Dutch riders.
It's cost the British team 20 points, and if they weren't out of contention before, they are now.
Mind you, they're not alone in falling with Belgium, Spain, and leaders Italy all involved in crashes in the past couple of minutes.

At the other end of the results, Kothari finishes 11th and China's Wang is 12th.
A Chinese journalist next to me is not best pleased with Yang and says he "will be asking questions" because he is pretty disappointed.
He informs me a medal for Yang was a possibility- not a certainty - but to finish bottom is a real shock.

Clean sweep
Sensational stuff from China in the diving, it really is.
They're obviously the dominant force but to win EVERY medal diving has to offer across these Games is outrageous.
Eight from eight, you just have to hold your hands up.
Next time!

Cao to wrap up his gold and the clean sweep for China in the Paris 2024 diving.
Never in doubt.
Eight golds out of eight diving competitions for China.
But for Noah Williams it is bronze to back up his silver in the 10m synchro with Tom Daley.

So, here comes Tamai.
Anything less than superb and Williams will have silver.
Oh my word.
That is outrageouslygood. Barely a splash as he plunges into the pool.
That will surely overtake Williams...
It does.
99.00. I am stunned.
It will be a bronze medal for the Brit (unless Cao blunders - but that won't happen let's be honest).
